Terms of Service

These Terms describe the agreement between you and the operator of Flances when you use the service. They are written to be readable. If anything is unclear, write to office@webtopro.com.

1. Who we are

Flances is operated by Artem Gorlovetsky (webtopro.com). It is an independent project, not a registered company. Contact: office@webtopro.com.

2. The service

Flances is a tool for building family trees, recording the people in them, and — at your option — sharing those trees publicly. The service is provided free of charge. There are no paid features, no subscriptions, no payment processing. If that changes, you'll be notified and given the choice to continue or close your account.

3. Eligibility

You may use Flances if you are at least 16 years old. Genealogy involves personal data about real people — we ask for the same age threshold the EU uses by default for data-processing consent.

4. Your account

You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for the security of that account; if it's compromised, your Flances data is reachable. Tell us at office@webtopro.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

5. What you put on Flances

The trees, people, photos, and stories you add are your content. You keep ownership; we don't claim it, sell it, or use it to train models.

By adding content you confirm that:

• You have the right to add it. Photos, biographies and other materials about other living people require their consent — this matters especially before a tree is made public.
• The content does not violate the law of your country, the law of Georgia (where the operator is based), or the law of Germany (where the servers run).
• The content is not used to harass, defame, or target individuals.

By making a tree public, you grant Flances a non-exclusive licence to display, host and link to that content while it stays public. Switching the tree back to private withdraws this licence going forward; cached copies elsewhere on the internet are outside our control.

6. What you cannot do

• Submit content about real people without a reasonable right to do so.
• Scrape, clone, or systematically download other users' content.
• Probe the system for security weaknesses without writing to us first. Responsible disclosure to office@webtopro.com is welcome.
• Use the service to send spam, phishing, or other malicious traffic.
• Misrepresent who you are in a way that injures another person.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules. For clear violations we'll act first and explain afterwards; for ambiguous cases we'll write to you first.

7. Other people's privacy

If someone tells us a tree contains information about them that they did not consent to publish, we will look at the situation and may remove that information — even from a tree we don't otherwise control. The right of a living person not to be exposed publicly weighs heavily here. See the privacy policy for details.

8. Service availability

The service is provided as is. We try hard to keep it running and your data safe, but we cannot guarantee uptime, error-free behaviour, or that data loss will never occur. Keep your own copies of anything that matters.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator's liability for any claim related to Flances is limited to refunding the fees you paid for the service. The service is currently free, so this amount is zero. This does not limit liability for intent or gross negligence where mandatory law forbids such limitation.

10. Changes to the service and these Terms

Flances changes over time. Features come and go. We may update these Terms; meaningful changes will be announced on the site or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may close an account that violates these Terms. After deletion, public trees you owned are removed; private trees and your personal data are deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain a record.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, where the operator is based. Disputes that cannot be resolved by writing to us first should be brought before the courts competent for the operator's place of residence, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country gives you a different forum.
